A CLEAN HANDOFF BETWEEN AGENTS

Share the decision and the evidence, without copying your whole chat.

No email required. Keep it for your next build.

Write a useful handoff

  1. Start with the current goal, repository and exact branch or revision. Include only the files the next agent needs.
  2. Separate confirmed findings from assumptions. Link file locations, commands and actual check output.
  3. State what changed, what is still broken and the next action. Assign one owner for each editing area.
  4. Keep credentials, private customer data and unnecessary chat history out of shared notes. Use sample values in examples.

Copy this note

Goal: [outcome]
Working state: [repo, branch, revision]
Confirmed findings: [evidence and file locations]
Changes made: [files and reasons]
Checks: [command and actual result]
Unresolved: [question or failure]
Next owner/action: [name and task]
Do not edit: [areas owned elsewhere]

Close the loop

  1. Ask the receiving agent to restate its task, then report the outcome against the original goal.
  2. Archive the final decision in the project documentation so the scratchpad is not the only record.
